Altrusa International of Centre County

Altrusa is an international organization that provides community service, develops leadership in its members, fosters international understanding, and encourages friendship through a network of executives and professionals in many diverse fields of endeavor.

Altrusa International, Inc. is comprised of over 400 clubs worldwide, with a total membership of almost 11,000 in 19 countries. The clubs are grouped into fourteen different districts, each having a governor, board of directors and committee chairmen, whose purpose is to be a conduit between International and all clubs in that district. Altrusa International, Inc. of Centre County falls under the jurisdiction of District Two, which consists of 19 active clubs with a total membership of over 450.

Altrusa values its presence at the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) as it enables us to be counted among those organizations dedicated to the service of mankind. To learn more about Altrusa International's link to the United Nations, click here.

Continue membership growth and maximize retention.
Maximize member participation through inspiration, encouragement, support and interesting activities.
Maintain sufficient organizational and financial resources to support programs and projects.
Enhance recognition of Altrusa as a major influence in Centre County.
Develop a needs-based, hands-on, signature service project that allows for member interaction and fellowship, and that will have a measurable impact on Centre County.
